Who are the betrayers, the destroyers, and the savior (i. e. the one who overcomes)?
Do today’s believers know the true identities of the betrayers, destroyers, and the savior, the one who overcomes (2 Thes 2:1-12)?
The prophecies of the NT proclaim these three entities and knowing them is mastering the Bible. Furthermore, knowing the true identities of these three three entities is critical for salvation. No one can claim, “I am already saved,” or “I belong to an orthodox church,” if these three entities have not yet appeared. People who claim to have received the holy spirit without mastering the deep things of heaven (1 Cor 2:10) are liars working to deceive vulnerable people who lack knowledge of the Bible.
Since the prophecies of the NT point to these three entities, not knowing their identity is the same as not knowing the prophecies of the Bible. People who do not know the prophecies of the NT will not recognize these three entities even after seeing them with their own eyes. People who are unaware of the prophecies can never believe in the prophetic fulfillment. These three entities – the betrayers, the destroyers, and the savior – can each be identified by their actions, because, by appearing, they fulfill the promises written about them in the Bible.
Jesus claimed that he had completed the work God gave him to do (Jn 17:4), and he said, “Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father is in me, but if you do not believe me, believe because of the miraculous deeds themselves,” (Jn 14:11). He claimed that the deeds that the Father assigned him to complete testified that the Father had sent him (Jn 5:36). He also stated that the one who believes in him will perform greater deeds than he had performed (Jn 14:12). If the work of Jesus at the time of the first coming was a beginning, then the work at the second coming is the greater work of fulfilling everything (Rev 21:6). In every generation, God, who made the prophecies, came to fulfill his prophecies and give salvation to those who believed.
The betrayers promised in the NT are God’s chosen people – the Spiritual Israelites. The destroyers are false pastors who belong to the devil (i.e. the dragon, the beast, and the serpent). The savior promised in the NT is the true pastor who appears after the betrayers and the destroyers (Matt 23; Jn 10).
The promised pastor of the NT is described in several ways: the one who gives food at the proper time (Matt 24:45-47); the one who overcomes; the one who will sit with Jesus on his throne (Rev 3:20-21); the Counselor through whom the spirit of truth, who comes in the name of the Lord, works (Jn 14:16-17, 26); the one who overcomes the group of the red dragon with seven heads and ten horns (Rev 12:1-11); the one who eats the opened scroll from heaven and preaches the word (Rev 10:1-11); the one on whom the name of God, the name of the holy city of New Jerusalem that descends from heaven, and the new name of Jesus are written (Rev 3:12); and the one who overcomes and inherits everything as the son of God (Rev 21:7).
There are many descriptions, but all of them point to one person. It was the same for Jesus. There were many prophetic descriptions of Jesus in the OT, but God only sent one savior to fulfill them all (Jn 5:39). Other pastors ministering at the time of the first coming could not claim to be the savior. Their appointed tasks came to an end when Jesus appeared (Matt 11:13; Lk 16:16). In the same way, only one pastor is promised by the Lord in the NT – the one who overcomes. The Bible even prophesies that the appointed tasks of the churches and their pastors will come to an end just the time of the first coming (Matt 13; Rev 6). Since this is God’s plan, everyone must obey the word in an effort to attain salvation. When today’s pastors oppose the pastor promised and sent by Jesus, they are, in effect, opposing both God and Jesus.
Both the Old and New Testaments are full of prophecies. The one who prophesies [God] always comes to fulfill the prophecies and then testify about the physical fulfillment. Jesus testified that John the Baptist was Elijah because the spirit of Elijah, who was promised to come, had come and had united with John (Matt 11:10-14; Matt 17:10-13; Lk 1:13-17). In a similar way, the spirit of God came and united with Jesus (Jn 1:32), which is why he came in the name of God (Jn 5:43). God and Jesus were one (Jn 10:30), and anyone who saw Jesus saw the Father (God). Anyone who believed in Jesus believed in God (Jn 12:44-45). This was the fulfillment of the OT prophecies (Jn 19:30).
Jesus prophesied in the NT about someone who would come in the name of the Lord (Matt 23:39). Jesus referred to John the Baptist as Elijah because John came in the name of Elijah. Jesus also said that, because he had come in God’s name, anyone who saw him (Jesus) saw God the Father (Jn 14:9). Considering these words of Jesus, if the spirit of truth (i.e. the Counselor who comes in the name of the Lord – Jn 14:16-17; Jn 14:26) dwells within a person, why is it wrong to call that person the Counselor? Regarding the person used by spirit of the Counselor, who comes in the name of the Lord, if it is wrong to call this person the Counselor, then it is also wrong to say that John the Baptist was Elijah and it is wrong to say that seeing Jesus was the same as seeing the Father. If it is wrong, then the words of Jesus’ testimony were lies.
The true word is the word spoken according to what is seen and heard in heaven. Jesus said in Jn 8:55, “Yet you do not know him, but I know him. If I were to say that I do not know him, I would be a liar like you. But I do know him, and I obey his teaching.” If a person who had received the spirit of the Counselor were act according to his own will by denying his identity as the Counselor to avoid persecution, he would become a betrayer like Eve, and the spirit of truth (the spirit of the Counselor) would leave him. Religion was created by the holy spirit of God. Anyone who does not have the holy spirit is not a person of true religion; they are mere flesh. According to the Bible, anyone who does not have the spirit of Christ does not belong to Christ (Rom 8:5-11).

Regardless of the level to which a person is ignorant about the Bible, 1 Cor 2:10 helps us understand both ourselves and others. The Bible says that the holy spirit (the Lord’s spirit) understands the deepest things of heaven. No one who lacks knowledge of the NT prophecies, which recount the secrets of the kingdom of heaven, can have the holy spirit; he or she is mere flesh. How can the flesh fathom the work of the holy spirit? This is why the Bible says that those born of the flesh persecute those born of the holy spirit (Gal 4:29).
Shinchonji Church of Jesus has mastered the Bible, and we teach the theology of revelation in a way that answers the questions of who, what, when, where, why, and how. Please come, listen, and judge for yourself.
If the time of the first coming was the beginning, the introduction to God’s kingdom, then the time of the second coming is the time of the completion and perfection of that kingdom. Recently, there was an article in a Christian newspaper entitled “Rearranging our present course through the Bible” under a section called “The Declaration of 140 Korean Theologians” (The International Conference Hall, Korea Press Center, June 2, 2008). Furthermore, the Council of the Church of Christ co-sponsored a symposium in May 2008 with Seoul Christian University at Love of Jesus Church in Samjeong-dong, Seoul, Korea. The symposium was called the “2008 International Restoration.” Theologians and pastors from Korea and elsewhere gathered to proclaim this message: “Let us go back to the word. Let us go back to the early Christian church. We need to overcome denominationalism. We should preach the word given by the holy spirit. We should know the revelation of God." Regardless of whether you look at the first coming when the OT was fulfilled or the second coming when the NT is fulfilled, the Lord promises one person through whom to fulfill his prophecies. God opened the sealed scroll – the scroll that no one in heaven or on earth knew – and gave it to Jesus (Isa 29:9-13; Hab 2:2-3; Eze 1-3). Just as Jesus received the opened scroll and proclaimed the words of revelation (Matt 15:24; Matt 11:27), Jesus opens sealed scroll of the NT and gives it to his promised pastor (Rev 5; Rev 6; Rev 8; Rev 10). Therefore, this one pastor is the only one who is able to testify about the prophecies of Revelation and their physical fulfillment.
Pastors and believers at the time of the NT’s fulfillment must hear, believe, and obey the words of the pastor who receives the revealed word. In doing so, they will obtain salvation. In other words, the pastors of the world do not know the prophecies of the NT, which are the secrets of the kingdom of heaven. Just because they study at seminaries does not mean that they know the secrets of the kingdom of heaven. God, the new Jerusalem that descends from heaven, Jesus, and the revealed word are with the promised pastor, the one who overcomes (Rev 3:12).There is only one place to which all nations must come and worship God. Only those who read, understand, and believe the words of the NT will agree with what has been written above (Rev 15:2-4). Anyone who does not truly believe the words of the Bible will disagree.
Those who verify for themselves that these words are true and believe them will receive the blessing of salvation.
